A Look at Our New Outdoor New Side Tables That Are Patio Umbrella Ready
The pool is open and we're ready for our second season of fun in the sun... and sometimes in the shade under a patio umbrella, too. We've been slowly furnishing the backyard both with lounge furniture and dining furniture, and after a full year of pool fun, it became clear we needed one more thing: side tables for our lounge chairs to hold drinks, phones, sunscreen and more.
Assembling the Outdoor Side Table with an Umbrella Hole
I really didn't want to add a TON of furniture out here so I was thrilled to stumble on the perfect solution - side tables that sit on top of the umbrella stand! They take up the same footprint as the base. After a quick online search, I found a style I liked at our local At Home store.
Assembly was simple - just a bunch of nuts and bolts that a trusty allen wrench made quick work of. I'd say 15 minutes per table.
These tables provide a lot of quality surface area and I like the black slatted style which complements a lot of the other outdoor furniture and decor we have. The side is open at the top which helps you access the screw that tightens the umbrella to the stand.

Umbrellas are up and tables are out!
Such a simple concept that provides so much extra functionality to the deadzone that the umbrella base made.
For now we're starting wtih two tables just where we had our umbrella stands, leaving the middle as a walkway to get to the pool equipment along the side of the house.
As much as we love entertaining, a quiet morning with a cofffee is just a nice.
Look at me, pretending that I actually have quiet mornings where I can just sit and drink coffee! I know some day we'll have a lot more of those, but fully embracing the chaos we are living in now. At least there's a new spot to hold my drink!
