Fall Front Porch Decor and Giant Spiderweb Addition
It's been two years since we started decorating our front porch for fall with giant spiders, and I still love them just the same as I did that first year. As much as I truly love fall most of all, I hold out on all things pumpkin until the calendar flips to October. Last weekend was rough - we lost our Ruthie pup and it was 90 degrees. So while the calendar said October, my heart wasn't in it to decorate. But with the change of the weather this week, it was time to jump to fall!
Summer's End
I'm all about low effort/high impact decor so my fall porch ingredients remain the same every year: some mums, pumpkins and our giant spider webs. The summer ferns are just too big and happy still for me to want to replace them so we keep them and build around.
Fall Front Porch Decor
Pumpkins & Gourds
Earl May had some of the coolest, biggest heirloom pumpkins and gourds this year so we went a little crazy with the funny looking ones.
I loved the purple and orange, and Abbey liked the bumpy ones. Of course we had to get a couple for carving too!
Mums
We grabbed two mystery mums this year. They weren't labeled so we're hoping for a yellow/white bloom. We'll find out! (Made my mother-in-law get in on the decorating fun this year!)
Giant Spiders
Our fuzzy spiders and webs have held up great so far heading into year three. They fold up nicely at the end of the year and haven't seemed to weather much at all. I leave my hooks up each year so it's easy to pop them right back where they were before.
This year we added on to the set with a giant 200" web for the front window.
Talk about big impact with little effort - we use the 3M adhesive hooks to attach the top hook. The web came with little stakes for securing the bottom to the ground. It was a literally a 5 minute job.
The set came with another giant spider of course. With a web that big, we had to give him a friend.
Being so huge and ridiculous, the spiders give off a spooky but approachable look during the day.
At night, they're a little more creepy crawly.
Spooky cute but not too scary is right where I like to stay with Halloween decor.
Happy fall, ya'll!
